High School Musical
As all grown-up kids will know, one of the benefits of being a parent is getting to take your kids along to stuff that secretly you wanted to see yourself but felt too embarrassed to go alone...
For example, ice cream on the pier, the Volks Railway, the Lego shop, the circus, Saturday morning cinema, etc.
Everyone has their guilty pleasures, I guess, and when we were offered two tickets to the West End to watch High School Musical I 'reluctantly' agreed to take my 7 year old son, who is obsessed with all things cool (Dr Who, Football, Lego Star Wars, Ben 10, Nintendo DS etc etc etc) as he has a secret passion for HSM - he even describes it as his 'secret', sensing that it might be seen as a bit girly...
I have to confess that the show was brilliant. I hope that lots of you managed to catch it in Brighton last week, as it was apparently very similar to the West End version.
What he doesn't know yet is that there are some signed bits of memorabilia coming his way from Letitia Dean (little Sharon Watts if you are my generation) and Troy and Gabriella.
We got to bed at midnight and he was surprisingly un-horrible the next day! I on the other hand was slightly more grouchy...
What I don't know is where axactly during this adventure I dropped my iPod - probably on the train somewhere. Never mind - the memories more than make up for it I guess.
