The Power of Advertising
There is a chip in my windscreen.
Harriet, (four years old) and I are out on a daddy-and-daughter date. She notices the chip.
"Daddy, did a stone fly off the road and hit the window?"
"Yes, that's right - I'll have to get a new one."
At which she comes out with the following gem: "You need to go to Autoglass repair, autoglass replace, Daddy". (Note that this line is partially spoken, partially sung).
What sponges children are. Maybe they just need to hear things enough times, with a catchy jingle, and the message will sink in.
I shall now start to experiment.
We could kick off with "Clean your teeth, clean your teeth, clean your teeth, Clean your teeth, clean your teeth clean your tee-eeth," to the tune of "Here we go, here we go, here we go.."
Or, instead of "We're all going to the zoo tomorrow" we could try singing "We're going to tidy our room tomorrow, room tomorrow, room tomorrow..."
Eat your heart out, supernanny.
